One of a kind gifts

We totally dig these adorable bookplates, stationeries and paper treats from Pink Loves Brown. (Check out that pink paper suitcase!) Designer Nicole Balch also whips up these lovelies with fun details like bicycles, scissors, paper airplanes, thread and needles, and monogram. Wouldn't they make great thank you gifts for your bridesmaids? You can personalise your friend's name too!

"Saving gowns, preserving memories"

So you found your dream gown. What can you do to make that quest even more meaningful and special? Make plans to donate that gown to charity and help make dreams come true.

Every year, thousands of brides give their used gowns to Brides against Breast Cancer, which sells them at discount prices to benefit the Making Memories Foundation, granting wishes to women and men suffering from terminal breast cancer. Designers donate brand new gowns which are available for purchase, along with used gowns, at any of the Brides against Breast Cancer shows held nationwide in the US throughout the year.

You can also donate other wedding items like veils, shoes, purses, slips plus bridesmaid and flower girl dresses.

Make a difference on your special day

Want to create lasting memories on your special day? Well, the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation's Pink Envelope Project allow you to make donations on behalf of your wedding guests that will grant wishes to people who have been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. With your donations come beautifully designed favor cards that you can place at your reception to let your guests know that you have made donations in their name.

On top of that, you can also pass out Pink Donation Envelopes, attaching a note to your pink envelopes, personally inviting your guests to make a donation on behalf your wedding.

You can do the same with bridal shower, simply include them with your bridal shower invitations and a personal note of course!

This post is dedicated to my aunt who survived breast cancer.

"8 Months"

I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it
(anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate
(for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world
(for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart
(I carry it in my heart)

All things pretty

Still on the subject of wedding cake designers, we found more stunning confections by Gail Watson. We love her beautiful, elegant wedding cakes, plus she makes kosher and non-dairy cakes too. Yes, she delivers! For brides who want a Gail Watson cake but can't (like how far we are), she offers cake kits that you can get your own baker to do.

Gail also makes a variety of really pretty, hand-crafted, edible wedding favors (which can be customized for any occasion) that would leave your guest swooning with pleasure.
